The Challenge: Growing volume and diverse systems demanded a sturdier approach.
Early reporting lived in Google Sheets with app scripts emailing results, which was suitable for a smaller footprint. As volumes started expanding, Zetwerk needed to consolidate data from in-house applications, ERP and finance systems, customer support tools, factory systems, and manual inputs. The team also wanted controlled access to sensitive fields, clean environments for change management, and reliable pipelines that would keep Postgres current for day-to-day decision-making and annual audits.
The Solution: Unifying many sources into Postgres, facilitating modeling and monitoring with Hevo.
After running proofs of concept with other tools like Fivetran and Skyvia as well, the team chose Hevo for its ease of use and higher ROI. Zetwerk now consolidates operational and finance data into a single Postgres database on AWS RDS. Using Hevo, the team pulls data from its in-house MongoDB application and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (via Azure SQL). They also ingest data from NetSuite for the US business, Freshdesk, Google Sheets for manual inputs, REST APIs, and a factory MES running on Streamlit. Once the data lands, they use Hevo to shape it to business needs and coordinate each stage through workflow orchestration, so dependencies run in a controlled, step-by-step order. Metabase sits on top for monitoring and dashboards, while targeted Python scripts handle additional extraction where required.
