  • Step 5: After successful installation, search for Webex Admin in Salesforce. Open this tab as it will be used at a later stage.

2. Authorizing the Salesforce Webex Integration

To authorize Salesforce Webex Integration, login to your Cisco Webex account and follow the easy steps given below:

  • Step 1: Navigate to API Reference > People > Get My Own Details and copy the access token for authorizing the integration.

  • Step 2: Go to the Webex Admin Tab you opened earlier. In Webex Integration Settings, paste the above token in the Access Token field. Finally, click on the Register button.

  • Step 3: To check if the registration was successful, you can again paste the Access token in the field. A client ID will appear, confirming the authorization. 

3. Site Creation for Calling

Now, you can move towards adding calling functionality for Salesforce through Webex. To do this, follow these simple steps:

  • Step 1: Go to the Webex Admin Tab and Click on the Create Site option. 
  • Step 2: To check if the Site has been created, navigate to Salesforce Setup > Domain and Sites > Sites.  A site named “Webex for Salesforce” should be present there.
  • Step 3: Now, in the Webex Admin Tab click on the Update Profile button.

  • Step 4: Validate that the “Webex for Salesforce Profile” linked with the “Webex for Salesforce” site has access to the Apex Classes shown below.

4. Configuring Webex Features

After creating a site in Webex, you need to configure the Webex Features in Salesforce. To do this accurately, follow the easy steps below:

  • Step 1: In your Salesforce environment, click on the Setup option (⚙️) present in the top right corner.

  • Step 2: On the Setup page, search for App Manager and choose the desired applications to which you want to add the Webex features. In Salesforce Webex Integration, only the Lightning Apps support the Webex features.
  • Step 3: Click on the Edit Page option (⚙️) from the top right and add the desired feature to your apps by a simple drag and drop. Webex offers various components such as Home Pod, Meetings, Spaces, Meeting Calendar Services, and Webex Chat.

  • Step 4: Finally, from the App Manager select the desired application and select Edit option from the ▼ icon on the right. Click on the Utility Items and then select Add Utility Items. Then select Webex
  • Step 5: Now, set Panel Width as 420 and Panel Height as 460. Click on Start automatically check box and then click on the Save button.

5. Set Access Permissions

The Webex components added to the Salesforce apps require the necessary access permission to function. To do this, follow these steps:

  • Step 1: On your Salesforce platform, navigate to Salesforce Setup > Permission Sets. For Non-Webex Admin users, assign the Cisco Webex user permission set otherwise for Webex Admin users assign both Cisco Webex user and Cisco Webex Admin permission sets. 
  • Step 2: Now, login from the Webex Admin Login component on the Webex Admin Tab. The Webex widget will be now available in Salesforce.
