Introduction to eBay

eBay is largely recognized as one of the early pioneers of the E-Commerce revolution. It was founded in 1995 and has established itself as a major player in the field of online businesses. Perhaps this is why, despite an increasing number of competitors, the website has a significant user base still today.

eBay is an online marketplace where users can sell both new and used products. For many years, the platform operated on an auction basis, in which bidders listed the price at which they wanted to buy an item. However, to save time for both buyers and sellers, they later added a fixed price feature. Moreover, one of the most important aspects of the platform’s success has been its dedication to the safety and privacy of its users.

Key Features of eBay

Since 1995, eBay has been catering to the E-Commerce industry. The platform has a long history of being innovative, with various features aimed at improving the user experience. The following are some of eBay’s key features:

  • Shipping Assistance: One of the best aspects of selling on eBay is that sellers can save up to 52% on shipping costs. Thus, your listings will be more appealing to buyers because of the reduced shipping costs.
  • Customized Feed: On eBay, you may customize your product feed to view only the products you want to see. At the top of every eBay item, 3 buttons labeled as ‘Like,’ ‘Want,’ and ‘Own’ appears. This information is used by eBay to customize your feed.
  • Advanced Search Criteria: Using the Advanced Keyword Search Criteria, eBay makes it extremely simple to locate the desired product. Price is one of the filters you can use to find the desired product.
  • eBay Wishlist: eBay Wishlist is a place where you may compile a list of items you’d like to own.
