Setting Up WooCommerce Google Analytics Integration

  • By clicking the Admin option, you may get to the required view (bottom left).
  • Make sure you create a Universal Analytics property if you’re going to create a new one.

  • Set Enable Enhanced E-Commerce Reporting to ON.
  • Click Save.

  • Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Integrations to set up the WooCommerce Enhanced E-Commerce with Google Analytics plugin. ‘Google Analytics‘ will be given as an option. To see the options, click this.

Step 3: Installing the WooCommerce Google Analytics plugin

The first step is to pay $0.00 for the WooCommerce Enhanced E-Commerce with Google Analytics (free) plugin on the WooCommerce site.

Once you’ve downloaded the WooCommerce Enhanced E-Commerce With Google Analytics plugin, you’ll be given a link to download the zip file on the checkout page, as shown in the image below.

It’s time to install the plugin on your WooCommerce store after you’ve downloaded the zip file.

From your WooCommerce Dashboard, go to Plugins option and then click on the Add New button.

You’ll need to open a new tab in your browser and go to analytics.google.com to get your Google Analytics ID.

Once you are on the website, select Create Account. The account setup process is quite simple, as shown in the image below.

You will be able to copy and paste the tracking ID as indicated below once your account has been created, as shown in the image below:

It’s worth mentioning that the tracking code is given under “Global Site” will not require any action on your part.

As seen below, paste your tracking code into the Google Analytics ID box on WooCommerce, then click on the Save Changes button, as shown in the image below.

Step 5: Finalizing E-Commerce Settings

There’s one more thing we need to accomplish before we leave analytics.google.com. Select E-Commerce Settings from the gear menu in the bottom left corner of your screen. For further information, as shown in the image below.

Before selecting Save Changes, make sure you select Enable E-Commerce and Enhanced E-Commerce Reporting under E-Commerce Settings, as shown in the image below.

Step 6: Configure the Google Analytics Plugin Settings

You’ll want to set your domain primary once you’ve returned to the WooCommerce Enhanced E-Commerce With Google Analytics plugin Settings page from your WooCommerce Dashboard. This is a personal preference, but I find it handy. You can also see the list of Tracking Options that I generally use below, which I recommend you check if you aren’t currently utilizing a third-party Google Analytics plugin, as shown in the image below.

You’ll also want to tick Enable Enhanced E-Commerce, which we just finished setting up, in addition to the aforementioned Tracking Options, as shown in the image below.

Step 7: Testing the WooCommerce Enhanced E-Commerce

To make sure our installation and setup were successful, go back to your Google Analytics account and click on Real-Time, then Overview.

If you go through a test transaction, you’ll find that Google Analytics keeps track of customer activity, which you can see by going to Conversions, E-Commerce, and then Overview in Google Analytics, as shown in the image below.

Please keep in mind that a full readout of Google Analytics findings may take up to 24 hours to appear in your dashboard. After 24 hours, graphs and data such as the average order price, number of transactions, and total revenue will be available.
